I believe that language is the key to success; just as we need the unwavering law of gravity to understand the existence of planet Earth, we also need syntactical rules to communicate through language. Yet language is not defined by the "rules" of grammar; on the contrary, it is constructed by the rhetorical choices that writers instinctively make to shift their tone, mood, and meaning. Writing is an art, and it is one that we all unconsciously engage in everyday! As a tutor, I strive to help students feel confident and excited about their abilities to write as well as the power and independence that come with those writing skills.
